Established in Plovdiv in 2005, EL Engineering Industrial Holdings emerged at a pivotal moment of structural transformation across Central and Eastern European markets. The firm carries forward a lineage that began in 2001, when our founder first established EL Engineering — a name and a conviction we chose to preserve when the holding was formed, in recognition of where the discipline began.
We were founded on a single belief: that the region's most enduring value lies not in rapid speculation, but in the patient acquisition and disciplined stewardship of businesses with genuine operational merit.
The Holdings' founding period was one of disciplined capital formation. From 2005 through 2019, the firm's liquidity was invested in publicly listed companies — a liquid, mark-to-market apprenticeship in underwriting, patience, and cycle discipline that ultimately doubled the capital under its stewardship. It was from that base, and from the conviction that the same discipline could be applied with greater effect to operating businesses, that the transition to principal industrial investment began in 2019, with the first acquisitions recorded in the Holdings' portfolio register.
Over more than two decades of combined heritage, we have built a portfolio spanning industrials, technology, healthcare, and financial services — guided throughout by the principles set out in our founding charter: engineering rigour, independence of mind, and an uncompromising focus on precision and excellence. Today, the Holdings' portfolio register records 20 companies acquired across Central and Eastern Europe — 17 retained holdings and 3 completed exits — representing a cumulative portfolio value in excess of US$2.4 billion, per the internal register as of September 2026 and pending independent verification.
We are not a fund. We are a holding — with permanent capital, long time horizons, and the conviction to act as true owners rather than transient investors. We do not answer to a fund cycle, and we do not sell on a schedule. We hold until the case for holding no longer exists.
Our emblem carries that same discipline forward: two letters, one line. The gold stroke through our mark is a line of ascent — a single, deliberate trajectory, rather than a scattering of directions. It is the visual expression of how we build: with precision, with intent, and always moving forward on one considered path.
